The Differences in Our Akari
Clean lines and natural warm tones, crafted from authentic Japanese Washi paper - our Akari lamps embody meticulous craftsmanship.
Entirely handmade, skilled artisans carefully adhere each piece of paper to the lampshade’s mold with precision and care, making every lamp truly one of a kind. We ensure the design maintains its clean, minimalist aesthetic while beautifully diffusing light to create a warm, inviting glow. Our unwavering attention to detail highlights the inherent elegance of paper lamps, celebrating the artistry and refined shapes that define every creation.

Akari lamps blend artistry and functionality, complementing modern and traditional spaces alike. From floor lamps to pendant lamps, their soft, ethereal glow transforms any room.
Available in various shapes and sizes, these Akari fixtures bring elegance, harmony, and timeless design to your home.

Our Akari lamps seamlessly blend traditional techniques with modern aesthetics. Their elegant simplicity suits both contemporary and classic interiors, making them a timeless addition to any space.
With a warm, inviting glow, Akari lamps capture the calming spirit of coziness, fostering a harmonious atmosphere where beauty meets functionality. Each piece transforms its surroundings into a serene retreat, balancing light and design with effortless grace.

You asked, we answered.
What kind of paper do you use?
We currently use three types of paper across our collection: rice paper, cotton paper, and Japanese washi paper.
- Rice paper has a delicate, translucent quality that gives each piece an airy elegance—perfect for those seeking a budget-friendly option with a refined touch.
- Cotton paper is sturdier than rice paper, making it ideal for more sculptural or complex lamp shapes that require added structure.
- Japanese washi paper is known for its soft, serene diffusing effect. We source our washi from a heritage paper maker in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

Are you affiliated with Noguchi or The Noguchi Museum?
No, we are not affiliated with Isamu Noguchi or The Noguchi Museum. Our paper lamps are inspired by his iconic designs and pay tribute to their timeless beauty—but we’ve also added our own design elements in the lampshades to help you create a warm, inviting home without the gallery-level price tag.
How are you different from other paper lamp sellers?
We care deeply about quality, craftsmanship, and the details that make each piece special. While many sellers use the cheapest materials to cut costs, our products are made to last.
We work with the same manufacturer trusted by premium design retailers like DWR (Design Within Reach), and we source our washi paper from the same legacy supplier that provides paper for Noguchi’s original designs.
