About Hüga
The search for “home” has always been personal.
What does “home” mean? For years, it was a fleeting concept. Since the age of sixteen, I’d been moving from city to city, country to country, and “home” became little more than a place to store my things and sleep. During my senior year of college, I spent a semester in Lund, a quiet university town in southern Sweden. That’s where I first learned about hygge, the Danish philosophy of comfort, coziness, and joy in life’s simplest moments.
But I didn’t yet understand its depth. I returned to my life in motion, chasing career milestones, moving from California to New York in search of momentum and success. But the relentless pace, the pressure, and the absence of true connection began to wear me down. Restlessness crept in. Joy faded from the things I once loved. Even in my own apartment, I felt like a guest, unsettled and alone. It was in those quiet, difficult moments that I began to recognize what was missing.
What was missing was not more to do, but more to feel. Warmth. Softness. And a space that could let me to slow down, breathe deeper, and feel calmer. That’s when Hüga began to take shape.
I poured myself into it—late nights, countless sketches, endless notes. It was work, but the kind that nourished me. Slowly, I found excitement again. I found joy again. But most importantly, I found meaning. This was it. This was what I wanted to do with my life. This was what brought me happiness.
Hüga is everything I once longed for: intention, comfort, and design that feels soft, human, and deeply personal. Inspired by hygge, our pieces do more than decorate—they hold space. From ambient paper lamps to quietly sculptural furniture, every design is made to help you feel a little more at ease, a little more at home.
I built this brand from a deeply personal place. My hope is that Hüga helps you build yours, too. 🤍

Bringing warmth, comfort, and intention into every home.
Hüga, pronounced as "hyoo-gah," is our take on the Danish cultural characteristic of hygge. According to the Oxford Languages, hygge is "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being"
To us, hygge is the art of slowing down — of savoring time with those you love, or cherishing the quiet company of your own thoughts. It’s the unhurried pleasure of a morning bathed in soft light, the deep exhale that comes at day’s end, the way a room can cradle you in its warmth. A way of living rooted in ease, comfort, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments.
At Hüga Collective, we bring this feeling to life through thoughtfully designed and carefully curated home pieces. Each one is made to create that warm, welcoming atmosphere you can sink into, blending everyday comfort with a touch of timeless style.
Our mission is simple: to help you turn your space into a place you truly love coming home to.
